Walking Lake Garda & the Prosecco Hills

Enjoy a bird's-eye view of Garda's blue waters while hiking on the top of Monte Baldo and then again from the Old Ponale Road Path, cut into the cliffs on the opposite shore. Ramble through the vineyards and hamlets of Prosecco Country in the foothills of the Dolomites and reward yourself with a tasting of the famous bubbles. Real Mountains in Tuscany..... Yes, there are real mountains and pretty impressive ones at that. Our week primarilly focuses on the range of the Alpi Apuane Mountains found in Northern Tuscany. The Range is the divider between the Garfagnana and the coast, so from the top of the peaks one has the most glorious view of the coast and even views across to Corsica and the Island of Elba, and to the other, views inland to the whole of the Garfagnana, the Appennine mountains and maybe even a glimpse northwards to the Alps and the Dolomites.
The tour is a Higher level tour graded at a C grade level, some days are long days and more so our walks are linear, using mountain refuges for our night stops. We start the week with a warm up walk in the mountains that touches on local villages and more and allows one to find their legs ! ( so to say) We then depart on our 4 day linear walking adventure of the Alpi Apuane, walking through lush Beech forests, chesnuts and mediteranean vegeation. Through mountain villages, hamlets and high pastures. Crossing high mountain peaks, some small sections of scrambling and some areas of mild exposure ! But... what views do we get... the Best ! From the Top of some of the highest peaks of the range, such as the Pania della Croce and Monte Tambura.
